In this position, you will collaborate with various health professionals to design programs that support residents’ physical and cognitive health. Your role will include leading, supervising, and educating both volunteers and students involved in the PAL initiatives. Assessments for resident transfers will also be part of your responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop engaging cognitive and physical exercise programs
• Collaborate closely with physiotherapists and occupational therapists
• Conduct resident transfer assessments for smooth transitions
• Mentor kinesiology co-op students and volunteers
• Facilitate educational sessions on body mechanics and active living
Requirements:
• Degree in Kinesiology with psychomotor focus
• Registration with Kinesiologists of Ontario is an asset
• Experience working with seniors or with cognitive impairments
• Familiarity with related policies and best practices
• Understanding emotional and physical care demands
