In this full time position, the City of Vancouver is looking for a Community Arts Programmer to assist in developing a culturally rich arts program that prioritizes Indigenous perspectives. The role involves significant collaboration with local artists, cultural organizations, and community partners to coordinate engaging arts experiences in the Britannia Community Services Centres and surrounding neighborhoods. Your efforts will enhance community capacity and cultural participation.
Key Responsibilities:
• Plan and facilitate community arts events and projects
• Collaborate with various stakeholders to understand interests
• Develop outreach initiatives for effective community engagement
• Supervise the Carving Pavilion and related projects
• Manage the Britannia Art Gallery and staff
Requirements:
• Degree in Fine Arts or equivalent experience
• Demonstrated knowledge of Indigenous art and cultures
• Familiarity with community arts trends and protocols
• Exceptional communication and partnership-building skills
• Proficiency in relevant software applications
