Job Summary

The Technician, Sculpture & Art Studios maintains the daily operation of studio and classroom facilities, supporting faculty to ensure healthy and secure environments for students and staff.

Responsibilities
Provide assistance and technical support to students and faculty regarding equipment and facility usage.
Ensure that equipment and facilities are maintained in positive working order.
Prepare materials for student and faculty use.
Provide technical demonstrations, supervision, and assistance to students in the use of equipment.

Qualifications
Bachelor of Fine Arts from a recognized post‑secondary institution or closely related discipline.
Minimum two (2) years of experience working in a professional or educational role.
Experience with sculpture and related 3‑dimensional art practices, woodworking, mouldmaking and casting, ceramics, metal fabrication, and studio maintenance.




Knowledge of safe and efficient use and maintenance of hand tools, shop tools, and heavy machinery in woodworking, metal fabrication, ceramics kiln, and general studio maintenance.
Experience with Occupational Health & Safety standards applicable in an academic studio setting.
Ability to communicate principles and practices of secure studio work to students.
Ability to multi‑task and respond to timely tasks quickly.
Ability to work collaboratively with minimum supervision.
Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills.
Physical ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
