In this permanent, full time position, you will report to the Deputy City Solicitor and provide legal services that include drafting complex agreements and collaborating on strategic projects. Your role emphasizes solid leadership and teamwork while managing legal staff and fostering a culture of inclusivity.
Key Responsibilities:
Review and draft land development and real estate agreements
Lead strategic operational initiatives in the legal practice
Manage and supervise legal support staff effectively
Assist in policy drafting and bylaw amendments
Serve as backup to the Deputy City Solicitor when required
Requirements:
Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) or Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree
Active member of the Law Society of Ontario
Five or more years in real estate law
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Strong relationship-building and negotiation abilities
