A Lead Hand is responsible for supporting the Production Supervisor in managing all aspects of the department including:
Shift
Rotation
Department
Stain
Key Responsibilities
- Safe work: promoting safety within the department, aiming for a zero-injury culture.
- Coach and develop staff: monitor performance to identify training gaps, provide training, maintain, and request updates to CTR’s.
- Quality work: training staff on quality standards/expected behaviours and ensuring they are met.
- Lead department meetings: involve staff in department matters.
- Monitor production activity: take action to optimize sequencing and product flow, ensure buffer holes are filled, and work with the team to achieve production targets.
- Continuous improvement: active participation in and coaching employees for continuous improvement.
- Innovation: bringing value through new, creative ideas.

Education & Experience
- 3-5 years manufacturing experience.
- Finishing experience would be an asset.
- Leadership experience would be an asset.
