Description Under the supervision of the project manager, the intermediate structural engineer takes part in all stages of building projects.
The person in this position performs structural analyses, prepares drawings and specifications, writes technical reports, and provides support on construction sites.
Main responsibilities Take part in the design of structural elements in concrete, steel, wood, and masonry for industrial, commercial, and institutional buildings.
Perform structural calculations and analyses using specialized software (EXCEL, ETABS, SECURE or equivalent) and, ideally, a knowledge of Python.
Prepare and/or supervise the preparation of drawings, details, and specifications in accordance with current standards and codes (CSA, NBC, etc.).
Take part in surveys, inspections, and site visits; write site visit reports and minutes.
Collaborate with architects, engineers in other disciplines, technicians,
and contractors to ensure project coordination.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of work methods and calculation and drawing templates.
Desired profile Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering (structures option) or equivalent.
Member in good standing of the Ordre des ingnieurs du Qubec (OIQ).
Approximately 2 to 10 years of relevant experience in building structural design.
Valuable knowledge of structural design standards and codes in Qubec.
Proficiency with structural analysis software (e.g. ETABS, SAFE) and Microsoft Office; knowledge of Revit is a significant asset.
Rigor , autonomy, solid sense of responsibility, and solid teamwork skills.
Ability to work in a bilingual environment.
Knowledge of software related to AI.
