Support syilx/sqilxʷ communities through cultural services with the Okanagan Nation Transition Emergency House (ONTEH). This full-time term relief position offers impactful responsibilities focused on cultural safety and trauma-informed support.
As a Cultural Support Intake Worker for ONTEH, you will engage with women, children, families, and Elders, providing compassionate services during critical times. This role embraces syilx values and aims to help individuals affected by violence and crisis. Your work will enhance cultural safety and healing opportunities for those in need.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide tailored support for women and families accessing services
• Foster trauma-informed care rooted in cultural safety
• Collaborate with Elders in service delivery




• Engage in community outreach and support initiatives
• Maintain confidentiality and sensitive handling of client information
Requirements:
• Commitment to syilx/sqilxʷ values and healing principles
• Experience in community support or related fields
• Ability to work in a culturally sensitive environment
• Solid communication and interpersonal skills
• Availability for a 12-month term relief position
