Become an integral part of the Ontario Shores Centre as a Registered Practical Nurse dedicated to forensic rehabilitation. Provide patient-centered care using a recovery-oriented model while working with an interprofessional team.
In this role, RPNs will provide specialized care for individuals within the Forensic Rehabilitation Unit, where providing significant therapeutic interventions and rehabilitation services is crucial. The responsibilities also require flexibility, as nurses will be expected to work in any needed area of the facility. Leveraging solid communication and a commitment to excellence will be vital in supporting patient recovery.
Key Responsibilities:
• Offer recovery-focused care to forensic patients
• Document and assess mental health care needs rigorously
• Engage collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
• Model and implement Recovery principles in all interactions
• Adapt to various care settings based on patient requirements
Requirements:
• Registration with the College of Nurses in Ontario
• Current Health Care Provider CPR certification
• In-depth knowledge of psychiatric nursing standards
• Demonstrated experience in mental health settings preferred
• Robust critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
