Join the YONA-Sistema program as a Woodwinds Teaching Artist in Edmonton, Alberta, from September 2026 to June 2027. Provide music instruction and inspire youth through collaborative teaching.
This part time role focuses on delivering instrumental music education to groups of up to 20 students. You will work daily during after-school hours, planning and preparing lessons while fostering supportive relationships among students, families, and colleagues. The position includes concert participation and career development opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide daily woodwind instruction to students
• Lead rehearsals and performances effectively
• Support students academically and socially
• Collaborate with a dedicated team of educators
• Advocate for inclusive, trauma-informed practices
Requirements:
• Advanced training in Woodwinds (clarinet and/or flute)
• Post-secondary education in music preferred
• Experience teaching music to children
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite
• Transparent criminal record check with vulnerable sector search
