TransAlta is seeking a full time Project Developer in Calgary to lead thermal and renewable energy projects. Enhance the growth strategy through key project management from development to construction.
As a Project Developer on the Growth team, you will report to the Director of Development - Canada. This role demands ownership of project outcomes as you work with internal and external stakeholders. Your responsibilities will include managing budgets, setting development priorities, and mitigating risks while aligning with TransAlta’s long-term objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead development of thermal and renewable projects through to Final Investment Decision
• Coordinate with engineering, regulatory, and finance teams
• Engage with landowners,



partners, and regulators
• Manage project schedules, budgets, and deliverables
• Assess and mitigate risks across project stages
Requirements:
• Bachelor's in Business, Engineering, or related fields
• Over 5 years of project development experience
• Expertise in thermal, wind, and solar technologies
• Proven leadership in cross-functional teams
• Robust communication and stakeholder management skills
