Job Purpose

PCI is a composites manufacturing shop in Toronto looking for a dedicated and energetic individual to join our team. Our company operates under ISO9001|AS9100 D Quality Management Standards and is approved under the Canadian Controlled Goods Program. We are looking for composite technicians with experience working with all or any part of the composite manufacturing process. Successful candidates will work to complex engineering drawings moulds to produce high precision composite components.

Duties & Responsibilities

- Ensure high quality manufacturing of composites products as per process instructions
- Trim composite parts with a high degree of precision and accuracy.
- Sand, fill, fair, and finish parts to prepare for painting or final assembly, following detailed instructions.
- Join composite-to-composite components using resin bonding, riveting, and mechanical fasteners, including the installation of nut plates and rivet nuts.
- Interpret work instructions, travelers, engineering drawings, and other technical documentation to determine required materials and processes.
- Perform in-process quality checks, inspect own work for accuracy and compliance, and document results on travelers.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production quality standards and project deadlines.
- Adhere to all safety procedures when working with composite and metallic materials; ensure tools and equipment are maintained and operated safely.
- Support additional shop tasks, projects, and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

- English language skills (read, write)
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects
- Must have exceptional attention to detail




- Solid communication skills and ability to work in a team
- Experience in composite materials, a skilled trade, or backgrounds in design, fabrication, or finishing will be considered an asset.
- Strong documentation, organization and communication skills
- Upon approval, continuing education will be supported by PCI as needed

Working conditions

PCI promotes a safe and clean working environment that meets or exceeds standards prescribed by the Ministry of Labour (Ontario). Work will be conducted indoors in our manufacturing shop. Personal protective equipment will be necessary when operating on the shop floor including safety shoes (CSA Green Triangle) and safety glasses. Respiratory protection, hearing protection, appropriate gloves and work suits will be mandatory as required.

Other conditions include

- Ability to work flexible hours, overtime, and different shifts, on occasion, based on demanding manufacturing schedules
- Stand for long periods of time. Use their hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls. Repeat the same movements. Bend or twist their body. Climb ladders, kneel, stoop, or crouch for long periods of time
- Work in dirty, dusty environment (PPE provided)
- PCI manufactures products that contain products that may act as an irritant that triggers an allergic reaction as asthmatic symptoms in susceptible workers.

Physical requirements

- Lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds
- Work with power tools and heavy shop equipment
- Use hands throughout composites manufacturing process

PCI is a Controlled Goods manufacturing workplace. Candidates will be subject to a background check prior to employment.
