Position Overview

MacEwan University’s Triffo School of Business is recruiting a Tier 2 Canada Research Chair (CRC) in Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship and Director of the Maria T. Schneider Social Innovation Institute. The appointment is fully tenured, full‑time, with a reduced teaching load, and commences January 1, 2027 (or close as agreed).

Responsibilities
Develop and lead a research program in social innovation, entrepreneurship, and Indigenous business, demonstrating original and creative scholarship.
Direct the Maria T. Schneider Social Innovation Institute, managing students, research staff, fundraising, and the institute’s budget.
Teach undergraduate and graduate courses, support curriculum development, and contribute to university service.
Collaborate with community partners and stakeholders to apply research findings and create social enterprises.





Qualifications
A PhD in business, management, or a related field.
Evidence of outstanding undergraduate teaching ability and a demonstrated commitment to student learning.
An active, cutting-edge research program in social innovation, entrepreneurship, social enterprises, or Indigenous business, with documented research productivity and impact.
Eligibility for a Tier 2 CRC: no more than ten years from first independent academic appointment, or justifiable career breaks such as maternity, parental, or extended sick leave.
