McGill University is seeking a Course Lecturer for the Intermediate Indigenous Language course starting in Fall 2026. This position requires expertise in Indigenous language phonology and structure with in-person delivery in Chisasibi and Waswanipi.
Joining the Office of First Nation and Inuit Education, you'll engage in teaching with a focus on Indigenous language curriculum and instruction. A Master’s degree is preferred, along with expert knowledge in course content and familiarity with the Quebec Education program. Participants must show commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in their teaching approaches.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver in-person lectures and course material
• Modify course content as needed for community context




• Participate in course planning and coordination
• Teach in alignment with Quebec Education standards
• Integrate Indigenous knowledge into curriculum design
Requirements:
• Master’s degree or significant relevant experience
• Expert knowledge of Indigenous language structure
• Experience in Quebec elementary education
• Background in teaching Indigenous communities
• Knowledge of colonial impacts and pedagogical frameworks
