Job description

Total Group of Companies (TGC), is an industrial service company specializing in fire, rescue, medical, HSE and training services.

TGC is actively seeking a certified Safety Advisor for an upcoming project.

Key Responsibilities
Support site personnel in working safely and in compliance with OHS requirements
Conduct hazard identification, assessment, and control
Set up, inspect, and maintain safety equipment and PPE
Monitor work activities and exercise stop-work authority when required
Report hazards, near misses, incidents, and injuries in a timely manner
Deliver safety orientations and task-specific training
Perform gas monitoring, confined space monitoring, and rescue support as required
Assist with general site housekeeping and safety oversight

Qualifications & Attributes
Safety-driven with a robust attention to detail
Positive attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team




Solid communication and basic computer skills
Willingness to learn and follow established procedures

Job requirements

Requirements
Authorized to work in Canada and 19 years of age or older
Valid driver’s license with minimum 3 years’ driving experience and acceptable abstract
Physically fit and able to lift up to 75lbs
Willing and able to travel and work outdoors in varying conditions
Able to pass pre-access drug and alcohol testing
Previous experience in a safety role
Robust working knowledge of OH&S; legislation and specialized PPE

Required Certifications
Safety designation (NCSO, CRSP, or equivalent)
First Aid
H2S Alive (Alberta-based work)
Additional certifications may be required based on project scope
