In this role, you will report to the Manager of Indigenous Initiatives, guiding students in accessing academic resources and financial assistance. Your experience with Indigenous communities will help build trust and facilitate impactful programming, while ensuring trauma-informed support during critical times. Responsibilities include outreach, peer mentorship, and event planning that resonates with Indigenous students.
Key Responsibilities:
• Facilitate connections between students and support services
• Coordinate financial assistance and budget planning
• Provide crisis management and referrals
• Engage with Elders and community partners
• Develop workshop events to enrich student experience
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree, three years in student support
• Robust cultural competency and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management
• ASIST certification or willingness to obtain
