Become a Horticulture Teacher with the Toronto District School Board at the City Adult Learning Centre for the academic year. Your focus on Green Industries and Anti-Oppressive pedagogy will enrich students' learning experiences.
This position requires teaching Grades 9 to 11 in Exploring Green Industries and Horticulture. The ideal candidate will hold a valid teaching certificate and demonstrate commitment to equity, human rights, and anti-racism education. You'll guide students through hands-on greenhouse-based learning while fostering an inclusive workplace.
Key Responsibilities:
• Teach Green Industries courses in a greenhouse setting
• Implement an anti-oppressive pedagogical approach
• Engage students in experiential learning activities
• Promote awareness of human rights and equity
• Prepare students for university/college pathways
Requirements:
• Positive standing with Ontario College of Teachers
• Experience in horticulture education
• Commitment to equity and community engagement
• Ability to address and combat racism
• Availability to teach from September 2026 until August 2027
