Stantec is seeking an Intermediate Archaeologist for a full time role based in Whitehorse, Yukon, with a focus on environmental stewardship and archaeological integrity. Engage in fieldwork and research vital for cultural resource management.
As an Intermediate Archaeologist at Stantec, you will lead field investigations, conduct assessments, and mentor junior staff. Your role will be focused on completing Heritage Resource Overview Assessments and working collaboratively with Indigenous communities. You must also meet eligibility for Yukon Class 2 ASR permits within a year.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and conduct HRIA fieldwork and research activities
• Progress toward leading field programs and supervising staff




• Digitally collect and manage fieldwork data using ESRI tools
• Collaborate with project management and Indigenous communities
• Support GIS team in regulatory figure preparation
Requirements:
• Master’s in Yukon archaeology or related field preferred
• Experience in excavation and data analysis
• Robust interpersonal skills for diverse audience interaction
• Available for extensive travel on projects
• Capability to walk rough terrains daily
