The Director, Health, Safety and Emergency Management provides essential oversight for a safe learning workplace at George Brown Polytechnic. You will develop strategies for compliance, emergency preparedness, and risk mitigation. Collaborating with leaders across departments, you will ensure effective policies and programs are maintained to safeguard the community.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide strategic direction for health, safety, and emergency management
• Develop effective policies and performance measures for safety compliance
• Manage operational and capital budgets related to safety programs
• Oversee and evaluate security contracts and vendor relationships
• Lead efforts in emergency management and workplace safety strategies
Requirements:
• Four-year degree in relevant fields; advanced degree preferred
• Minimum of nine years in departmental-level management
• Experience in leading occupational health and safety programs
• Knowledge of relevant legislation and standards
• Solid leadership and communication skills
