Become a vital part of the Re-Connect Youth Team as a Youth ReConnect Support Worker in Kamloops, BC. This full time role focuses on coaching youth towards independence, promoting family connections, and community integration.
In this essential position, you will engage with youth referred through MCFD, providing coaching, assessment, and advocacy. Your role will involve helping the youth build life skills, develop emotional regulation techniques, and connect them to essential community resources. You will work closely with families and care teams to foster robust communication.
Key Responsibilities:
• Initiate and maintain solid communication with youth and care teams
• Develop group and individual work for life skills
• Provide strategies for emotional regulation and conflict management
• Guide and advocate for community resource connections
• Address crises effectively and efficiently
Requirements:
• Degree or diploma in Human/Social Services preferred
• 2 years of experience with youth in crisis
• Valid Class 5 Driver's license and reliable vehicle
• Completion of required training programs
• Consent to Criminal Record Checks
