Contribute to social justice with the Hospital Employees’ Union as a temporary full time Human Resources Manager in Burnaby, British Columbia. Focus on employee relations, recruitment, and perks while upholding diversity and inclusion goals.
This challenging role involves overseeing employee and labour relations, managing return-to-work processes, and supporting recruitment efforts. As the primary contact for employees, you’ll guide leadership with your HR expertise. Reporting to the Human Resources Coordinator, you’ll also develop workplace policies, ensuring fairness and compliance with regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee employee and labour relations efficiently
• Manage recruitment and benefits processes
• Provide guidance on return-to-work and accommodation requests
• Develop inclusive HR policies and procedures
• Collaborate with leadership to support diversity goals
Requirements:
• University degree in HR or related field
• Five years of experience in a unionized setting
• Knowledge of BC Human Rights Code
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent negotiation and conflict resolution skills
