Make a difference in the classroom as a Demonstrator for General Physics 1 (PHYS 1020) at the University of Manitoba. This position focuses on student engagement through effective teaching support.
The University of Manitoba is looking for a Demonstrator for its General Physics course, PHYS 1020, during the fall semester. The contract runs from September to December 2026, offering 0 to 6 hours of work weekly. Duties will include preparing teaching aids, conducting tutorial sessions, and grading student work to facilitate academic excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop instructional materials for lab sessions
• Lead tutorials and provide guidance to students
• Grade assignments, midterms, and exams
• Hold consultation hours for student inquiries
• Occasionally step in for teaching staff when needed
Requirements:
• Completion of relevant academic studies
• Robust communication skills in English
• Empathetic toward student inquiries and needs
• Prior experience as a teaching assistant or demonstrator preferred
• Submission of a current student transcript required
