The Department of Earth Sciences is looking for a Teaching Assistant to assist with Geophysics GEOL 2060 from September 9 to December 23, 2026. This part time position requires 4 hours of work weekly, enhancing both educational and teaching experience. Responsibilities include preparing instructional materials and consulting with students during dedicated office hours.
Key Responsibilities:
• Attend orientation and course planning meetings
• Prepare instructional materials and handouts
• Mark assignments and exams for students
• Hold scheduled consultation hours with students
• Participate in course-related field trips or activities
Requirements:
• Relevant academic studies completed
• Solid empathy for student concerns
• Effective English language skills
• Preference for current students in Earth Sciences
• Valid study permit for international students
