The U17 AAA Airdrie Avalanche are looking for a dedicated Athletic Trainer for game-day coverage in the season. Your role will encompass all home and away games throughout the season.
In this critical position, you'll provide medical support during competition and manage acute injuries as they arise. You will implement emergency action plans and ensure transparent communication of injury statuses to coaching staff and families. The role also involves organizing medical supplies and traveling with the team to away games when necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver in office medical coverage at games
• Evaluate and manage injuries during competitions
• Implement effective emergency action plans
• Update coaches and families on athlete injuries
• Maintain medical supplies and documentation
Requirements:
• Certification in Athletic Therapy, Kinesiology, or similar
• Current First Aid and CPR certification
• Experience with high-performance athletes preferred
• Excellent communication and decision-making abilities
• Flexibility for game schedules including evenings
