The Near North District School Board seeks a permanent Indigenous Mental Health Clinician. This role focuses on providing culturally relevant services to students facing mental health challenges in the West Region.
Effective August 28, 2025, this position requires a registered Social Worker or a regulated member of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. You'll deliver individual and group interventions to enhance student well-being, collaborating with families, school staff, and community organizations. Your expertise will help to navigate complex mental health needs within the educational setting.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide clinical consultation and brief counseling for students' mental health
• Support families in navigating community resources
• Collaborate on Threat Assessment protocols in schools
• Conduct crisis intervention for urgent mental health issues
• Facilitate mental health promotion programs for students
Requirements:
• Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Psychotherapy
• Registration with OCSWSSW or CRPO in positive standing
• Experience with children, youth, and evidence-informed interventions
• Solid interpersonal and communication skills
• Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle
