The Fleet Mechanic is responsible for providing maintenance and repairs to the Dufferin Concrete & Ontario Redimix fleet of vehicles.
Responsibilities
Perform inspections, diagnose, and repair ready-mix trucks through preventative & scheduled maintenance.
Perform removal, rework and installation of various engine and chassis components.
Use diagnostic technology to identify breakdowns.
Order required parts and maintain parts inventory.
Document repairs on work orders and complete inspection sheets as required.
Communicate with operations and supervisory staff on equipment availability.
Prioritize jobs and work safely on all equipment.
Follow shop procedures and company policies relating to use of shop and Occupational Health & Safety regulations.
Requirements
Valid 310T Truck & Coach license or a registered training agreement.
Valid class 'G' Driver's License.
Sound working knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic pumps/motors, and air brake systems.
Solid interpersonal skills with a safety-first approach.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Ability to travel to local sites as required.
