CDC is the landlord to 15 tenants in the South Kootenay Business Centre and to CFSK and Canada Post.CFSK’s location offers a multitude of lifestyle benefits, an abundance of outdoor recreational experiences, world‑class skiing/snowboarding and family‑friendly communities.What You’ll Be DoingReporting to a volunteer Board of Directors and supported by a small, dedicated team of 5 staff, the Executive Director is charged with the overall leadership and management of CFSK and CDC. As the organization’s leader, the Executive Director ensures sound financial and administrative oversight, leads staff and volunteers, builds community trust, and collaborates and maintains excellent community stakeholder relations.Key focus areas will include:Strategic and Organizational Leadership : Work closely with the board to implement strategic plans that strengthen our capacity and impact.Community and Stakeholder Engagement : Build strong relationships with entrepreneurs, business leaders, governments, and community partners.Program Oversight : Oversee delivery of loans,
business services, and community development initiatives.Financial and Property Management : Ensure sound financial oversight and manage a multi‑tenant commercial building.Team Leadership : Support and empower a passionate team of professionals.You’ll also represent CFSK locally and regionally, advocate for resources and collaboration, and help shape the future of economic development in our region.We’re looking for the right combination of heart, skills, and attitude. Ideally, you bring:A strong background in leadership, community development, business services, or a related fieldExperience in financial oversight and operational managementA knack for partnership‑building and stakeholder relationsExperience in board governance and working with volunteersKnowledge of rural economic development and/or small business environmentsA team-oriented, empathetic and inclusive leadership styleAdaptability, integrity, and a sense of humourExperience with property or lease management, economic development programming, and/or commercial lending would be considered an asset.Position DetailsThis is a full‑time, permanent position based in Trail, BC. While a regular presence in the office is required, a hybrid work arrangement may be considered.
