WCL is looking for an experienced Underground Wheel Loader Operator to support our water and sewer crews. This role focuses on supporting the pipe crew with material and aggregate and keeping underground operations moving safely and efficiently.

WCL is looking for an experienced Underground Wheel Loader Operator to support our water and sewer crews. This role focuses on supporting the pipe crew with material and aggregate and keeping underground operations moving safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities
Support the pipe crew with material and aggregate and keep underground operations moving safely and efficiently.
Operate wheel loaders with bucket, forks and snout to load/unload pipe and other material, spot aggregate trucks, feed miser boxes and buckets with rock and sand, and string out material ahead of the install crew.
Work around open trenches and underground crews.
Work closely with pipe crews, excavator operators, and foremen.
Perform daily equipment inspections and maintain safety awareness on site.
Qualifications
3+ years experience operating wheel loaders in underground water and sewer or heavy civil construction
Solid understanding of working around open trenches and underground crews
Ability to work in tight areas and active underground job sites
Comfortable working in tight areas and active underground job sites
Ability to perform daily equipment inspections
Robust awareness of job site and trench safety
Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented
Required Tickets
Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
WHMIS & CSTS 2020 (or willing to obtain)
Schedule
7:00 AM – 6:30 PM Monday to Friday
8 hour Saturdays (some Saturdays planned off)
Some rain days off
Potential for backfill and prep work on some Sundays and long weekends
