Salary: $23.75 to $25.00 per hour (to be negotiated)
Hours: 30 to 40 hours per week (full-time, permanent employment)
Shift: Early morning, evening, night, weekend, versatile – starts as soon as possible. Work must be completed on site; no remote option.
Responsibilities
Prepare high‑quality sushi, sashimi, nigiri, maki, and specialty rolls.
Supervise and train sushi cooks and junior sushi staff.
Maintain sushi bar inventory, rotate stock for freshness and safety.
Inspect fish quality and ensure proper storage.
Assist the Executive Chef with menu items and seasonal features.
Maintain presentation standards and consistency.
Record food costs, consumption, sales, and inventory; analyze operating costs and other data.
Demonstrate new cooking techniques and equipment to cooking staff.
Requisition food and kitchen supplies.
Plan menus and ensure food meets quality standards.
Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances.
Qualifications
Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
2 to 3 years of sushi preparation experience.
Proficiency in sushi preparation techniques.
Physical Requirements
Physically demanding work, including sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching, and kneeling.
Standing for extended periods.
