Summary Of Position

The Langley Animal Protection Society (LAPS) is a growing non‑profit organization committed to providing secure harbor to over 650 animals annually, supporting families in need through programs like Major's Legacy and New Beginnings, and building a future of innovative, compassionate animal welfare. We are seeking a strategic and highly dedicated Director of Finance to join our leadership team.

This role requires a unique combination of strategic thinking, operational expertise, and hands‑on execution. The ideal candidate is solution‑focused, creative,



and committed to ensuring the financial health and sustainability of our organization. While experience in animal welfare is not required, a background in non‑profit finance is highly valued.

The Director of Finance is responsible for overseeing all financial operations, including full‑cycle accounting, payroll, budgeting, and reporting. This role provides strategic financial guidance to the Executive Director and Board, ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements, and drives cutting-edge solutions to enhance organizational efficiency.

The Director of Finance is both a strategic leader and a “doer,” actively involved in day‑to‑day financial operations while leading long‑term planning and risk management initiatives.
