Lead initiatives for African Nova Scotian student success with the NSCC in Halifax, Nova Scotia. This role focuses on culturally responsive leadership and community engagement to foster a sense of belonging.
The Manager of the Office of Black Student Success and Community Engagement will oversee strategies designed to improve retention and achievement for Black learners. With a minimum of five years in relevant educational settings, you’ll mentor staff and engage directly with the African Nova Scotian community.
Your efforts will honor the cultural significance and legacy of ANS communities while ensuring that educational programming reflects their unique needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide strategic leadership for Black student programs
Serve as a resource for ANS/Black student experiences
Oversee the Anti-Black Racism Strategy's implementation
Liaise between NSCC and ANS/Black communities
Support international students facing unique challenges
Requirements:
Minimum 5 years in educational leadership roles
Relevant post-secondary education required
Lived experience within ANS/Black communities
Proven ability to implement culturally responsive programs
Familiarity with budgeting and resource management
Utilize your leadership and community engagement skills to champion the journey of African Nova Scotian students at NSCC.
