Do you want to work with a high-growth client base, complex public‑company mandates, and a firm that has steadily built its reputation over several decades?Our client is a mid‑sized professional services firm that supports publicly listed and growth‑oriented companies across sectors such as real estate, technology, manufacturing and life sciences, giving you exposure to a broad mix of industries and reporting challenges.Role overviewAs Business Advisory Manager, you will lead client engagements, oversee the preparation and review of key deliverables, and act as a primary point of contact for management teams in a highly regulated and fast‑moving environment. The role is full‑time with a hybrid work arrangement based in the Greater Toronto Area.Key responsibilitiesProvide responsive, high‑quality service by overseeing review files from planning through completion, including related disclosures and key client deliverables.Take ownership of engagements by directing day‑to‑day fieldwork and maintaining clear, professional communication with client contacts at all levels.Collaborate with senior managers and partners on engagement planning and execute on agreed strategies.Identify industry‑specific and general accounting and tax issues, including potential taxable benefits and tax‑efficient planning opportunities.Review and provide insightful feedback on financial statements and prepare other client deliverables such as corporate tax returns, indirect tax filings, payroll memos, and related tax slips.Anticipate and address client concerns proactively, escalating issues as appropriate.Manage time and priorities across multiple concurrent projects,
ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met.Flag significant accounting and tax matters to senior management and partners and contribute to technical discussions.Stay current with evolving accounting standards, regulatory changes, and best practices relevant to the firm’s client base.Supervise associates, monitor productivity, and ensure adherence to engagement work plans and budgets.Participate in the firm’s coaching and development programs as a coach to junior team members, typically 2–3 direct mentees.Identify opportunities for performance improvement and skills development within the team.Support business development efforts, including strengthening existing client relationships and identifying new opportunities.Qualifications4–6 years of current or recent experience in a public accounting or professional services environment.CPA designation (or equivalent) in good standing.Solid review engagement experience.Understanding of ASPE and relevant income tax provisions.Experience with common accounting and tax software (for example, CaseWare, Taxprep or similar tools) is beneficial.Demonstrated ability to manage multiple engagements, lead teams, and communicate effectively with clients and internal stakeholders.Compensation and BenefitsAnnual base salary in the range of $115,000 – $145,000, with placement within the range dependent on depth of experience, demonstrated skills, and alignment with the scope of the role.Exposure to complex public‑company and growth‑company work, offering robust technical development and career progression in a mid‑sized, collaborative firm environment.Opportunities to take on meaningful client ownership, contribute to advisory growth, and participate in formal coaching and mentoring programs that support both your development and that of junior team members.#J-18808-Ljbffr
