About Us

Cameco is one of the largest global providers of the uranium fuel needed to power a secure energy future. The Role

You will be part of Cameco’s category management team within the Supply Chain Management (SCM) department. Your responsibilities include developing lasting, mutually beneficial relationships with suppliers based on continuous improvement in performance and total cost of ownership.

Duration

This is a 22‑month temporary position.

In This Role, You Will

- Manage the chemicals & feedstocks category across Cameco’s Mining & Fuel Services divisions and a portfolio of critical commodity suppliers.
- Develop an overarching long‑term category strategy for chemicals & feedstocks, including market intelligence research across the global chemicals industry and supplier landscape.




- Identify sourcing opportunities and execute commodity sourcing strategies for the assigned portfolio of chemicals and feedstocks.
- Lead the full source‑to‑contract life cycle of strategic sourcing events (RFx or single‑source initiatives) in line with the overarching category strategy.
- Assist in supply risk management initiatives and execute risk mitigation actions.
- Conduct regular supplier business reviews, monitor performance, and develop KPIs and scorecards to provide fact‑based feedback during SRM meetings.

Required

- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business, engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum five years of progressive experience in supply chain management, category management, supplier relationship management, or strategic sourcing.
- Equivalent combination of education and work experience considered.
- Proven track record of cost savings with large suppliers through execution of sourcing strategies and contract negotiations.
- Superior negotiation, problem‑solving, and analytical skills; ability to prioritize workload.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to support stakeholders across all levels.
- High level of computer proficiency, specifically with MS Office and SAP.
- Very strong interpersonal skills; ability to build trust with internal stakeholders.
- Excellent organizational and change management skills.

Recommended

- Chemical, industrial, or mechanical engineering degree.
- Previous experience managing a major chemicals category.




- Significant knowledge and hands‑on experience extracting supplier spend data from SAP and performing comprehensive data analytics in Excel.
- SCMP (Supply Chain Management Professional) designation.
- Lean Six Sigma training.

You will have the opportunity to work remotely; however, intermittent meetings in the Saskatoon office or travel to site may be required. The details of this arrangement will be discussed during the recruitment process.

Applicants will be considered for a level within the job progression appropriate to their qualifications.

Salary Range: $93,000 - $129,000
