Corporate Finance Team OverviewThe Corporate Finance team within Canadian Commercial Banking is part of BMO Financial Group. It covers both public and large private corporate clients across diversified industries. The team markets, manages, and monitors large commercial loan portfolios and supports credit requirements and cross‑selling efforts for other products such as subordinated debt, equipment leasing, derivatives, cash management, and trade finance. It assesses financing opportunities of $10,000,000 or more on a syndicated and bilateral basis.Job OverviewThe Senior Relationship Manager manages a commercial lending portfolio and supports the origination of new clients. The role coordinates with other products as part of a larger coverage team that maintains strong client relationships and drives significant business development through cross‑selling other BMO products.ResponsibilitiesAct as an escalation point for complex client issues, using strategic problem‑solving to resolve conflicts and maintain strong client relationships.Lead the structuring of high‑value, complex deals and credit approvals, ensuring alignment with client needs.Oversee credit approvals and drive pricing coordination, acting as the primary client advocate.Drive negotiations for high‑value, complex transactions and credit approvals, ensuring deals meet client needs.Manage high‑value client portfolios, driving cross‑selling, retention, and profitability.Implement cross‑selling initiatives, driving client engagement and converting opportunities into revenue‑generating sales.Lead market coverage strategies to expand portfolios, identify opportunities, and align with business goals.Represent the bank at industry forums and conferences, leveraging insights on trends, competition, and emerging products.Engage with senior leadership and cross‑functional teams to align strategies and address client needs.Deliver reports to leadership on team performance, client satisfaction, market trends,



and key strategic initiatives.Provide strategic advisory on loan products, options, rates, terms, and collateral requirements.Build and maintain strong long‑term relationships with high‑value strategic clients.Structure deals, secure credit approvals, negotiate high‑value transactions, and identify cross‑selling opportunities.Analyze market trends, client industry developments, and competitive positioning to inform client solution strategies.Work closely with internal teams and stakeholders to define products, solutions, and strategies that fit client needs.Identify share of wallet opportunities.Leverage analysis tools to nurture and grow a portfolio that exceeds ROE thresholds and evaluates client returns proactively.Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, internal controls, and compliance policies in all aspects of relationship management.Operate at a group/enterprise‑wide level and serve as a specialist resource to senior leaders and stakeholders.Apply expertise and think creatively to address unique or ambiguous situations and find solutions to complex, non‑routine problems.Implement changes in response to shifting trends.Qualifications10+ years of relevant experience in Relationship Management, Account Management, or Portfolio Management in a corporate or similar segmented banking environment with sales metrics is preferred.Bachelor’s degree required; Business Administration, Finance, and Accounting preferred.If a Credit‑Qualifiable role applies, credit qualifications and associated credit knowledge and skills according to the credit portfolio requirements and qualification standards.Seasoned qualified with a combination of education, experience and industry knowledge.Advanced ProficiencyProject ManagementChange ManagementExpert ProficiencyProduct KnowledgeRegulatory ComplianceStructuring DealsPortfolio ManagementCredit Risk AssessmentCustomer ServiceStakeholder ManagementNegotiationCustomer Relationship BuildingSalary$86,000.00 – $160,000.00 (salaried)#J-18808-Ljbffr
