Join YMCA BC as a Life Skills Support Worker at Foundry Prince George. This full-time peer support role is designed for those ready to assist youth facing mental health and social challenges.
As part of a dedicated team, you will engage with youth aged 12-24, utilizing your lived experiences to foster trust and provide essential support. Reporting to the Peer Support Coordinator, you'll work closely with specialists to improve health outcomes by advocating for youth and guiding them towards stability.
Key Responsibilities:
• Build rapport and support youth in crisis
• Contribute to case planning with multidisciplinary teams
• Maintain exact documentation in data systems
• Assist in mentorship and daily living skills
• Co-facilitate group services for skill and recovery
Requirements:
• Relevant lived experience with youth challenges
• Two years in social services or applicable field
• Completed peer support training
• Class 5 driver’s license for transportation
• Valid First Aid and CPR certification
