Controller / Director of Finance - 3+ months Pay range: CA$90.00/hr - CA$90.00/hrClient: A real estate consulting group seeking a strong Controller / Director of Finance to lead the accounting function for a newly formed entity on a contract assignment. We are looking for someone who can build the accounting infrastructure, oversee transition from QuickBooks to a more robust real estate accounting platform (likely Newstar/REMS), and ensure all financial processes, controls, and reporting frameworks are properly implemented from day one. Key Responsibilities Set up and manage the full accounting function for a new real estate entity Lead the migration from QuickBooks to a real estate-specific system Establish financial controls, reporting structures,



and month-end processes Support transaction-related financial requirements tied to asset sales Work closely with senior leadership and external advisors Qualifications Proven experience as a Controller or Director of Finance in real estate CPA designation Strong understanding of development, construction, or property accounting Experience implementing or migrating to real estate accounting systems (Newstar REMS or similar) Ability to operate in a fast-paced, build-from-scratch environment Robust communication and leadership skills Additional Information: This role is for a current vacancy.
