Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Registered Veterinary Technician role based in Toronto, ON. The technician will assist veterinarians with examinations, diagnostics, treatments, and surgical procedures, including anesthetic monitoring and recovery care. Daily responsibilities include handling and restraining patients safely, performing laboratory tests, administering medications, and overseeing general animal care and comfort. The role involves educating clients on pet health, preventive care, medications,
and post-operative instructions, while maintaining accurate medical records. The technician will also help ensure a clean, well-organized clinical environment and work closely with the team to support efficient, patient-centered care.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated skills in Animal Care and Pet Care, including safe handling, restraint, and monitoring of patients.
- Proficiency in Veterinary Technology, such as laboratory procedures, medication administration, and medical record keeping.
- Experience or training in Anesthesiology, including anesthetic induction, monitoring, and recovery support.
- Ability to provide clear, empathetic Client Education on preventive health, treatment plans, and home care.
- Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) credential or eligibility for registration in Ontario.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with a commitment to respectful, inclusive collaboration.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment and maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- Previous small-animal practice experience and familiarity with veterinary practice software are considered assets.
