Scholars of Stittsville is seeking passionate and enthusiastic part-time Teachers/Tutors for elementary school students all subjects (Reading/Language Arts, Math, French). As a teacher at Scholars, you will have the opportunity to positively impact students, both personally and academically. We take pride in delivering “results that matter” to all of our students, and our teachers play a key role in this journey.
The successful candidate will be trained and certified on Scholars’ teaching methodology. We offer a minimum of guaranteed hours every week and we take care of scheduling.
Job description
Small group (mostly 2:1 maximum 3:1 ratio), individualized tutoring for students ranging in age from from elementary school to middle school.
Here’s what we’re looking for:
- Ontario Certified Teachers or credentials in progress are preferred, but this is not required.
- Candidates in Teachers College or university designation towards math and sciences are also encouraged to apply.
- Previous experience working with students is an asset.
- Excellent English and/or French oral and written skills.
- A passion to help students reach their potential by building trust and strong relationships.
- Ability to teach groups of up to 3 students.
- Must be able to effectively teach their subject and level
- Will require a recent Vulnerable Sector Check
Candidates must be able to work a minimum of two shifts per week within our hours of operation below and commit for one year minimum.
