GDG Canada Inc. is a sustainable applied science group dedicated to managing the risk from West Nile virus and other vector borne diseases.
We are looking for field agents to apply biopesticides to roadside catch basins throughout the Ottawa region. These services are delivered under contract to the City of Ottawa to prevent the development of West Nile virus vector species.
Functions
- You and your team will be responsible for treating roadside catch basins with bikes to prevent mosquito development, using targeted larvicides.
- As a field agent, you will also:
- Work with your team and coordinator to ensure the completeness and effectiveness of the treatment.
- Use ArcGIS data collection software to track your work, observations and treatments on the field.
- Provide the appropriate geo-reference localization at each catch basin location.
Requirements
- Good physical condition and willingness to ride a bike.
- Driver’s license (at least G2).
- Interest in working outdoors.
- Discipline at work.
- Autonomy and resourcefulness.
- Capable of working extended hours if required.
Work conditions
- Around 36-38 hours per week, 4 days a week.
- Training to achieve a Pesticide Applicators License.
- Salary of 20$/hour.
