Become a Teaching Assistant for the SOC 1000 course at the University of Manitoba. This position allows you to support students with instruction, grading, and preparing educational materials.
The Department of Sociology is looking for two Teaching Assistants for the Introduction to Sociology course. Candidates will gain valuable educational experience through direct student interaction and instructional support. Duties include attending meetings, preparing materials, and consulting with students to enhance their learning experience.
Key Responsibilities:
• Attend orientation and planning meetings for SOC 1000
• Participate in lectures and assist during instruction
• Prepare instructional handouts, tests, and exams
• Mark assignments and provide feedback to students
• Hold regular consultation hours to support students
Requirements:
• Completion of relevant academic studies
• Empathetic approach towards student concerns
• Strong communication skills in English
• Registered full time University of Manitoba student
• Valid study permit (for international students)
