Join the Office of the Child & Youth Advocate as an Investigative Review Specialist in Edmonton. This full-time, 18-month chance focuses on conducting sensitive investigative reviews in child welfare.
In this position, you will be integral to ensuring the impact of services on vulnerable youth is thoroughly reviewed. Your expertise in social work, psychology, or social sciences will enable you to synthesise findings from multiple reviews, identifying patterns and key areas for systemic change in child and youth services across Alberta.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough investigations into serious child welfare cases
- Analyze documentation for comprehensive review reports
- Conduct formal interviews with families and stakeholders
- Identify trends and system gaps through reviews
- Produce evidence-based recommendations for systemic improvements
Requirements:
- Degree in relevant field, master’s preferred
- Five years of experience with child and family services
- Proven project management capabilities
- Experience in Indigenous community engagement
- Class 5 driver’s license required
