Since 1908, the National Battlefields Commission (NBC), an agency of the federal government, has had a mandate to conserve and promote the Battlefields Park. This rallying site par excellence in Québec City includes the Plains of Abraham and Des Braves Park. Job description
Under the Operations Department, the painter creates and implements painted decorations for CCBN exhibitions, activities, and events. They design attractive visuals based on established concepts using various artistic techniques and materials. They help enhance spaces by ensuring high-quality finishes while making sure safety standards, deadlines, and the artistic vision of projects are respected.
Main activities
- Work with project teams to create welcoming, safe, and attractive environments;
- Create painted elements and decorations that help showcase exhibitions and interpretive spaces;
- Apply various coatings and finishes (paint, varnish, enamel, lacquer, epoxy products, etc.) on interior and exterior surfaces, ensuring the aesthetic quality of the work;
- Install glazing and other fit-out elements according to current standards;
- Create and install lettering, signage, posters, and visual elements used for orientation, interpretation, and site enhancement;
- Carry out maintenance and repair work on facilities (including graffiti removal);
- Perform any other related tasks connected to the service's activities.
Employee profile
- DVS in building painting;
- Valid class 5 driver’s licence;
- Excellent physical fitness able to work at heights;
- Well-developed sense of teamwork and a positive attitude;
- Pay attention to detail;
- A developed creative side;
- Works safely and prudently;
- Independent, resourceful, and flexible.
Employment conditions
- A three-month contract;
- 40 hours per week;
- Salary ranges from $29,39 per hour;
- Unionized job;
