Job Summary
Buildscapes Construction Ltd. is a civil / environmental construction contractor specializing in stormwater management pond cleanouts, restoration, and municipal infrastructure work. We've taken on a robust project backlog and are looking for an experienced Excavator Operator to join our crew for the season.

Duties

- Operate excavators safely and productively on stormwater pond, restoration, and civil sites
- Excavate, grade, and load material; cut to grade and elevation as directed
- Load and stockpile material, and assist trucking operations
- Work alongside ground crews and other equipment (skid steers, wheel loaders) to keep the job moving
- Perform daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance, and report issues promptly
- Follow all site safety procedures, traffic control, and environmental controls

Skills

- Proven experience operating excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes and skid steers in a construction setting.
- Mechanical knowledge related to heavy machinery maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Ability to read and work to grades, plans, and stakeouts
- Strong understanding of construction site safety protocols.
- Commercial driving skills preferred for transporting equipment or materials.




- Valid Ontario driver's licence ([G class minimum; DZ an asset])
- Strong safety awareness and a reliable, team-first work ethic
- Able to work outdoors in all conditions and meet the demands of physical site work
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment with excellent communication skills.
- Physical stamina to handle demanding work conditions on construction sites. This position offers an opportunity for experienced heavy equipment operators to contribute to diverse construction projects while utilizing their technical skills in a dynamic environment.

Assets (not required, but a plus)

- Stormwater Management (SWMP) pond project experience
- Sewer and watermain construction experience
- Additional tickets: WHMIS, Working at Heights, confined space, skid steer / loader experience
- Experience reading GPS / machine-control grade systems

Pay: $35.00-$42.00 per hour
