J. Pitblado Law is seeking a motivated individual to join their team as a part time Paralegal.

The ideal candidate will have experience working independently in a fast-paced work environment; be personable, well organized and detail oriented. Applicants should have experience /education in employment law, civil litigation and criminal law. The selected candidate must have a clean criminal record.

Preferred candidates will have experience drafting civil litigation, employment and criminal court documents. He or she must have a good working knowledge of MS Word, Zoom, Excel, document assembly software and/or accounting.

Primary Duties Include

· Staying up to date on judicial practice directions rules and adapting to new court procedures

· Researching, drafting and filing of legal documents

· Undertaking management in superior court civil files

· Process Serving





· Attendance at criminal adjournment court

· Take care of incoming and outgoing phone calls

· File and Serve documents at the courthouse, as well as retrieve books from the MLA Library

· Daily upkeep of file organization

· Maintains office calendars by entering and updating requirements, court dates, and meetings.

· Research law by studying laws, statutes, constitutions, regulations, court opinions, including precedents and reasoning

· 1-2 hours per week of paper filing

· Other duties as required

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $25.00-$26.00 per hour
