Storage Analyst - Senior

JD:

Able to work evenings and/or weekends and/or during blocktime/change windows outside of normal business hours.

Automate routine tasks using Azure Automation, Terrafom, PowerShell, GitHub/GitHub Actions, Ansible, and other scripting tools, deployment pipelines and version controls systems.

Collaborate with data architects, engineers and analysts to design and optimize cloud architecture and services.

Experience functioning in a team/group environment.

Experience functioning on an individual basis.

Monitor Azure infrastructure performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize resource usage.

Deploy, manage, and monitor Azure cloud infrastructure including virtual networks, virtual machines, storage accounts, data services (ADF, Azure Databricks, Azure SQL, Azure ML, etc.) and other Azure resources.

Maintain and manage Azure cost management and budgeting.

Implement and manage Azure security controls including network security groups, Azure Active Directory,



and identity and access management.

Knowledge of data governance, data privacy, and compliance regulations.

Ability and willingness to travel as necessary between Edmonton and Calgary.

Experience in performing regular backups and ensuring disaster recovery plans are in place.

Strong understanding of Snowflake architecture, features, and best practices.

- Experience with provisioning, supporting and administering Snowflake

Experience working in the Government of Alberta Domain workplace or an environment of equivalent size and complexity.

Hands on experience administering Databricks, PowerBI and Purview

Hands on experience working in a complex environment requiring prioritization of tasks and deliverables.

Hands on experience working in a multi-team IT support workplace providing services to other teams and clients.
