Durand Health is a leading outpatient healthcare facility providing comprehensive,

patient-centered care. We seek an experienced and passionate Massage Therapist to join

our dynamic multidisciplinary team. We oer an exceptional patient experience,

incorporating clinical excellence with patient-focused healthcare, and

Massage Therapists are a valued part of our collaborative healthcare team.

This is a unique opportunity, the only one of its kind in downtown Hamilton. Our facility

is a newly renovated medical and wellness clinic with 20,000 sq. ft. that offers private

treatment rooms and an on-site private studio gym with equipment available for our

practitioners and patients.

JOB DESCRIPTION

As an integral member of our team, the Massage Therapist (MT) will play

a vital role in providing therapeutic massage services to enhance the overall well-being

of our patients. Your expertise in massage therapy, combined with a collaborative

approach, will contribute to the success of our multidisciplinary patient care model.

Our patient demographic is diverse. You will see clients who have sports-related

injuries, stress sequelae, post-surgical rehabilitation needs, low back pain, neck pain

and headaches, as well as those looking for relaxation and stress relief.

Our work environment is very collegial, and collaborative patient care is encouraged

through cross-referrals from other disciplines, guaranteeing our clients receive an

experience that genuinely prioritizes their unique health needs. Supportive

administrative staff handle patient inquiries,



bookings and payments so you can

perform your job without interruption.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Therapeutic Massage:

o Provide expert therapeutic massage treatments tailored to individual patient needs

o Utilize evidence-based practices, the latest therapeutic modalities and hands-on treatment

o Address musculoskeletal concerns, promote relaxation, and support overall wellness with a focus on pain management and functional improvement

o Develop and implement personalized treatment plans based on assessment findings

2. Collaboration:

o Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals within the clinic, including all of our medical and paramedical practitioners, to optimize patient care

o Cross-referral to other healthcare professionals when you feel the client would benefit from other therapies

o Participate in multidisciplinary team discussions and contribute insights to enhance patient outcomes

3. Assessment and Documentation:

o Conduct thorough assessments of patients' conditions and document treatment plans.

o Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with regulatory standards.

4. Patient Education:

o Educate patients on the advantages of massage therapy, self-care techniques, and strategies for ongoing wellness

o Foster a supportive and empowering environment for patients

o Promote preventative measures to enhance overall well-being

QUALIFICATIONS

1. Certification/Registration:





o Must possess a valid certification or registration as a Registered Massage Therapist and in good standing with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO)

2. Educational Background:

o You must be a graduate of a recognized program in massage therapy that meets standards set by the CMTO

o Adherence to the highest ethical standards in patient care, including maintaining patient confidentiality, respecting cultural beliefs and practices, and obtaining informed consent prior to treatment

4. Regulatory Compliance

o Knowledge of and compliance with all relevant legislation, regulations, and standards governing the practice of Massage Therapists in Ontario, including the standards of practice set forth by the CMTO

5. Continuing Education

o Commitment to ongoing professional development and learning to stay current with advancements in massage therapy techniques and related fields through continuing education courses, workshops, and seminars

6. Professional Liability Insurance

o You must carry professional liability insurance as mandated by the CMTO for practice in Ontario

7. Acupuncture Skills (Asset, Not Required)

o Competence in acupuncture techniques, including the ability to perform acupuncture point selection, needle insertion, and manipulation according to established protocols and best practice
