About the role:
The Hospital strives to deliver care that is centred on patients and families. Patient and Family Centred Care (PFCC)

Reporting to the Manager. Stroke, Neurology, Cardiac Diagnostics & Cardiac Rehabilitation, the Ward Clerk provides

qualified and confidential administrative support to the program and the health care professionals within the

Cardiac Education and Rehabilitation program. The Ward Clerk, an integral member of the team, serves as the

primary point of contact for clients, organizes the details relating to day‑to‑day operations, creates and maintains

accurate statistical records, maintains patient records, and functions as a resource for teams members around all

aspects of the day to day functions of the clinic as well as Meditech scheduling and other computer‑based programs.

Employment Requirements:
Education/Experience:

- Secondary School Graduation Diploma
- Certificate in Medical Terminology or equivalent experience (3 years minimum)
- Medical Terminology Course

Skills/Abilities:

- Demonstrated application of the principles of Patient & Family Centred Care Positive, enthusiastic customer service

style

- Excellent computer skills including proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Access, Power point and Excel
- Excellent communication skills, including telephone and interpersonal skills
- Must be highly organized and able to work independently
- Proficiency working with Meditech scheduling and registration system
- N compass and Telemedicine Equipment Training (can be provided by OTN)

Assets:

- Medical Office Administration Diploma an asset




- Previous experience working with outpatient clinic bookings
- Previous experience working with regional partners

Salary Range: $28.208 to 28.879
