Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Senior Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing and performing maintenance and repairs. This position requires a high level of expertise in diagnosing and resolving complex mechanical issues.
Responsibilities:
- Perform preventative maintenance, service, and repairs on a variety of pump equipment and vehicles both in the shop and on active construction sites.
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair systems in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
- Respond to service calls as required, including some after-hours and weekend emergency calls.
- Keep all equipment and vehicle fleet in safe, reliable working order and maintained in a clean, presentable condition in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose easy mechanical equipment issues remotely with customers or operators to minimize downtime.
- Complete and manage tasks through the company’s document management system, including work orders, service reports, inspection checklists, and referencing equipment manuals.
- Accurately record parts usage, labor hours, and repair details to ensure proper documentation and inventory control.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment always, adhering strictly to company health and safety policies and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, and customers regarding equipment status, repair timelines, and preventative maintenance recommendations.
- Assist with equipment inspections, safety audits, and continuous improvement initiatives as required.
Job Qualifications: Education, Certification, Technical Skills, Soft Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent; trade school, apprenticeship, or Red Seal certification preferred
- 2–5 years as a mechanic, technician, or similar repair/maintenance role
- Strong mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems knowledge; ability to read schematics and manuals.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Basic computer skills for service reporting
- Safety-conscious with strong attention to detail
- Reliable, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Physically fit for manual work and lifting as required
