Job Summary
D & I Wattam is seeking a dependable and motivated General Labourer to support daily operations across active construction sites. This role plays an important part in ensuring work is completed efficiently, with a strong focus on quality and team collaboration.

The successful candidate will support site preparation, assist our skilled operators, and contribute to maintaining a clean and organized work environment. This is a hands-on role suited for individuals who take pride in their work, demonstrate reliability, and are looking to build practical experience in the construction industry.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Knowledge:

- Basic understanding of construction environments, job site expectations, and general workflow
- Familiarity with common construction tools, materials, and equipment
- General awareness of protected work practices, including proper use of PPE and hazard recognition
- Understanding of the importance of site organization, cleanliness, and efficiency in supporting project timelines

Skills:

- Strong communication skills with the ability to follow instructions and ask clarifying questions when needed
- Effective teamwork skills with a willingness to support others and contribute to overall crew success
- Basic problem-solving skills to address routine tasks and adapt to changing site conditions
- Time management skills with the ability to stay focused and productive throughout the workday

Abilities:

- Physically capable of lifting, carrying, bending, and performing manual labour
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, outdoor environment
- Demonstrated reliability, accountability, and strong work ethic
- Willingness to learn and support team objectives

Experience and Requirements





- High school diploma or equivalent is considered an asset
- Must have a valid drivers license and reliable transportation.
- Previous experience in construction, site servicing, excavation, or civil work environments is preferred, but not required
- Experience working with or around heavy equipment, grading, trenching, pipe installation, or aggregate materials is considered a strong asset
- Familiarity with construction tools and equipment, including hand tools and basic power tools
- Experience working outdoors in physically demanding environments and varying weather conditions
- Understanding of general construction site flow, including material handling, site preparation, and clean-up activities
