Position Overview

Magic Lantern Theatres is seeking friendly, dependable, and hardworking Theatre Attendants to join the team at River City Cinemas.

Theatre Attendants help create a positive moviegoing experience by serving customers, preparing concession products, maintaining clean and welcoming facilities, and supporting the daily operation of the theatre.

This is a hands-on position that requires strong customer-service skills, attention to cleanliness, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

- Welcome customers and provide friendly, professional customer service.
- Take concession orders and accurately process cash, debit, and credit transactions.
- Prepare and serve popcorn, beverages, candy, and other concession products.
- Keep concession counters, equipment, food-preparation areas, and storage spaces clean and organized.
- Clean auditoriums between shows, including picking up garbage, sweeping, wiping surfaces, and checking seats.
- Maintain the cleanliness of theatre lobbies, hallways, entrances, washrooms, and other public areas.
- Restock concession products, supplies, and customer-service areas as needed.
- Assist customers with movie information, seating, accessibility needs, and general questions.
- Check tickets and help direct customers to the correct auditorium.
- Follow food-safety, workplace-safety, cash-handling, and theatre operating procedures.
- Respond professionally to customer questions or concerns and involve a supervisor when necessary.
- Help maintain a safe, comfortable, and welcoming setting for customers and coworkers.
- Assist with opening and closing duties as assigned.
- Support special events, promotions,



private rentals, and busy movie premieres.
- Complete additional cleaning, stocking, and operational tasks as directed by theatre management.

Qualifications

- Friendly, positive, and customer-service focused.
- Dependable and able to arrive on time for scheduled shifts.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced and high-volume environment.
- Comfortable handling cash and using a point-of-sale system.
- Strong attention to cleanliness, organization, and detail.
- Ability to follow instructions and established procedures.
- Willingness to perform cleaning duties throughout each shift.
- Ability to remain calm and professional when assisting customers.
- Previous customer-service, retail, food-service, or cleaning experience is considered an asset but is not required.
- Training will be provided.

Availability Requirements

Applicants must be available to work a flexible schedule that may include:

- Evenings.
- Weekends.
- Holidays.
- School breaks.
- Busy movie premieres and special events.

The majority of theatre shifts take place during evenings and weekends.

Physical Requirements

This position regularly requires:

- Standing and walking for extended periods.
- Lifting and carrying concession products, supplies, and garbage.
- Reaching, bending, kneeling, and sweeping.
- Ascending and descending stairs.
- Working around concession equipment and cleaning products.
- Moving quickly between concession, auditorium, and cleaning responsibilities.

Pay: $15.00-$17.00 per hour
