Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Landscape Labourer to join our team and contribute to the creation and maintenance of beautiful outdoor spaces. This role involves hands-on work in various landscaping projects, requiring physical stamina, attention to detail, and a passion for horticulture and construction. The ideal candidate will support landscape maintenance, installation, and repair activities, ensuring high-quality results that meet client expectations.
Duties
- Assist with excavation tasks using mechanical equipment such as excavators to prepare sites for planting or construction.
- Perform landscape maintenance activities including mowing, trimming, planting, and mulching to keep outdoor areas well-maintained.
- Install and repair irrigation systems to ensure proper watering of landscapes.
- Use hand tools and power tools for tasks such as digging, cutting, and assembling landscape features.
- Support gardening and horticulture efforts by planting flowers, shrubs, trees, and maintaining healthy plant growth.
- Conduct general construction activities related to landscape projects, including setting up structures or features as specified in project plans.
- Perform routine maintenance on tools and equipment to ensure safety and efficiency during work operations.
- Follow safety protocols during all tasks to maintain a protected working environment for all team members.
Qualifications
- Prior experience with landscape maintenance, gardening, or horticulture is preferred but not required; training will be provided for specific equipment use.
- Mechanical knowledge related to operating machinery such as excavators is a plus.
- Familiarity with hand tools and power tools used in landscaping and construction is desirable.
- Basic understanding of irrigation systems and landscape installation techniques is beneficial.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting heavy materials, digging, and standing for extended periods.
- Robust work ethic with attention to detail and a commitment to quality craftsmanship.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in outdoor environments under varying weather conditions.
